The location of the Mining Deck on the USG Ishimura.
The Mining Deck of the USG Ishimura was a large area located on the bottom portion of the ship and was the heart of the Planet Cracker. It was where asteroids and planet fragments were broken apart and smelted for valuable minerals. It featured four different subdecks, each with a different role, making it the largest deck on the Ishimura by far. Drifting asteroids were brought in via an entrance on the third level (Level 3/Mining Subdeck) and were held in place by gravity tethers, where they would be sent in for harvesting or smelting.
Tram Station
The Engineering Deck Tram Station, of course, was like all others on the ship: it had a sheltered waiting space, encased in glass and furnished with seats, presumably for those who were departing the Engineering Deck to wait for their tram to arrive. The Tram Station shared the same place with the Engineering Deck Tram Station as the computer told the passengers to check their station before leaving the tram.
Level 1 - Preparation
On this level, all arriving miners changed into their gear, synchronized their RIG with the Mining Deck systems and prepared for work in the lower levels.
Mining Operations
In this room there were a lot of already processed minerals and alloys ready to be taken back to the Cargo Bay where they would be stored for safekeeping. It featured many tracks so all materials would be safely moved around using Kinesis.
RIG Room
A large area featuring many locker rooms and showers needed for the miners entering lower levels. It also featured a Bench, a Save Station and a Store.
Level 2 - Processing
Mineral Processing
Processing Chamber
Mineral Processing Control
Mineral Samples
Level 3 - Mining
On this level, all mining-related work was performed. It featured an enormous Mining Bay, Extraction Room, and Mining Control for monitoring the systems and launching beacons.
Ore Storage
A small storage room for all ore but also other metals and alloys waiting to be transported to the Cargo Bay. In this room, it was revealed that Brant Harris had snuck in to steal materials for Dr. Challus Mercer's work but was caught red-handed by one of the miners. Instead of stepping back, the crazed Harris used the Store in this room as a death trap to kill the miner, telling him he wouldn't laugh like others laughed at him on the Aegis VII Colony.

Mining Bay
Mining Control
Level 4 - Maintenance
Secure Storage
Maintenance Bay Equipment
Repair Room
Equipment Storage
Utility Room

Trivia
- The Mining Deck is where Chapter 7: Into the Void of Dead Space (2008) takes place.
- The Mining Deck is where Isaac Clarke first runs into "Nicole Brennan" since her departure for the Ishimura.
- The Mining Deck was one of the last decks to be overrun. It was quite possible that a certain number of remaining survivors were still in there when the USG Kellion crash-landed aboard the USG Ishimura's Flight Deck.
- The Mining Deck appears very briefly in Dead Space 2 as one of Isaac's flashbacks of the USG Ishimura during his session with Foster Edgars. During this flashback, one can also spot the shadow of a roaming Necromorph Slasher trailing the deck's walls.
